Coming Through…

I try to picture how my life would look

If I could have it as I want

If I could author it as if a book

 ‘The Experiential Dilettante’

Would I live in wealth resplendent?

What would I have if dreams were true

If unrestrained and independent

Would my only want be you?

As my life has come uncurtained

And I have learned a thing or two

The more I know the less I’m certain

But this I know – that I want you

Life is short and love is real

And I’ve learned long enough to feel

That I’m too old for chasing rainbows anymore

But love’s an open door

And I’m comin’ through

Bread and wine can’t fill the spaces

Store-bought pleasures can’t fulfill

No taken trips to far flung places

No feats of strengths or acts of will

Life is short and love is real

And I’ve learned long enough to feel

That I’m too old for chasing rainbows anymore

But love’s an open door

And I’m comin’ through
