Field of Diamonds

I walk alone by a field of diamonds

My tracks disappear – awash in the sand

Stars on the water – dancing and shining

Shimmering ballet at the tide’s command

Your words resound like the waves cascading

My broken heart sinks like the stones I cast

I look to those stars ‘till dawn comes invading

Wondering if eve love can last

I offered my heart on a gilded pillow

I whispered your name like a sacred chant

I cannot fathom how love can be cast aside

Blind to it’s luster – irradiant

I sand your name to the wind and the ocean

Exalted your spirit and beauty so fine

Still you give no reward to my heart’s devotion

You pour me away like soured wine

Soured wine

I look to the sea and those stars eternal

And I see the reflection of your luminous eyes
