Lake of Fire

©Steven Nelson, March, 2003

With my lips upon your breast

Brush your fingers ‘cross my chest

Through our hands we share the best

Of who we are

Your burnished hair upon my skin

Feel the pulse that beats within

And my inner being spins

So nebular

(chorus):

I would fall upon my sword for you

I would walk into a lake of fire

Give it all and even more to you

I am consumed with this desire

By the heat of midnight’s kiss

And our bodies’ flame

In the amber light of bliss

I exhale your name

(Bridge)

(chorus)

You are safe in this embrace

We have made this sacred space

Oblivious to time and place

We are as one

There is no cold or driven rain

No unease or mortal stain

Nothing now can still restrain

Our abandon

If you whisper one sweet word

I will be yours

Like a resonating chord

My love endures

(chorus)
