Need
to Learn
I
pushed too
hard and I talked too much
Moved too quickly in my haste to
touch your heart
- such
a clumsy fool
I said too little for all my words
Forgot to laugh,
now it’s so absurd
But the joke has turned sour
& cruel
(Chorus):
I’m finding the way to your
heart
Is a road of many turns
I’ve made my share of
mistakes
But I’m trying so hard to
learn – how to love again
I need to learn how to love again
I’ve got to learn how to
love again
My wounded pride is a painful
thing
I bind the cuts and I nurse the
stings
But these are the lessons I need
to be taught
So give me time and I’ll
give you room
I’ll learn to ask –
not to assume
I guess I’m just not as
clever as I thought
(
There’s a well within me
– a deep flowing spring
and a bright harmonic in the chorus
I sing
but I need to learn how to harness
the flow
how to pace the arrangement
how to let you go…..
I need to learn how to love again
I’ve got to learn how to
love again
