Lightshafts....

Outside
the Window
Light
spills over concrete canyons,
Rising
vapors illuminate and dance,
A
thousand gems of gutter-glass glisten,
And
an open hydrant harbors rainbows
Through
which children leap and laugh..
>From
this window, light cascades
And
takes you, reclining,
Regarding
me with blue eyes.
“Come
to the window, I say,
“The
light is magic.” And you smile,
Knowing
I have walked alone
In
the dark of this cold city.
“The
light is magic, ” I tell you.
And
you smile, knowing
It
is love that has touched my eyes.
